WORLD ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP IN PARIS 2024

Continuing the thought of the great French writer, I would say that each person has his own peaceful harbor.

For many people around the world, a piece of mind is an Arabian horse.

The community of Arabian horse lovers reminds me of a serene ship, maintaining remarkable stability and smooth sailing through the stormy ocean of geopolitical passions.

This ship, or even an ark, is filled with people of the most diverse faiths and cultures, views and social classes, different incomes and ambitions.

Year after year, they sail harmoniously to meet the beautiful Arabian horse, undeterred by the stormy waves. Every year, all passengers on this wonderful ship look forward a fantastic journey to the venue of the World Arabian Horse Championship. This time, we set course for Paris.

The first World Arabian Horse Championship was held in 1980 in Paris, and until 2022, it was traditionally held in France, as part of the Salon De Cheval equestrian exhibition.

The World Arabian Horse Championship in Paris is a key event in the world of Arabian horse breeding. Traditionally, the finest representatives of the Arabian breed gather here each December to compete for the title of World Champion.

In 2023, for the first time, it was decided to hold the World Arabian Horse Championship in the capital of Qatar, Doha. In 2024, the World Arabian Horse Championship

will return to the city of love and chic – Paris. In 2025, Doha will host the event again, and in 2026 – Paris.

Why Qatar? Probably one of the reasons is that Qatar is home to the world-famous Al Shaqab Stud, where the unique stallion GAZAL AL SHAQAB (bay, 1995; Anaza El Farid * Kajora), the founder of a great dynasty of champions, was born.

Platinum World Champions

GAZAL AL SHAQAB (Bay, 1995; Anaza El Farid * Kajora)  Platinum Champion 2017.

Five Platinum World Champions and one Vice-Platinum World Champion have Gazal Al Shaqab in their pedigree:
Kahil Al Shaqab (Bay, 2008; Marwan Al Shaqab * OFW Mishaahl) – Platinum Champion 2018
(grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab),
Hariry Al Shaqab (Grey, 2010; Marwan Al Shaqab * White Silkk) – Platinum Champion 2019
(grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab),
Baanderos (Grey, 2005; Marwan Al Shaqab * HB Bessolea) – Platinum Champion 2013
(grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab),
Equator (Bay, 2010; QR Marc * Ekliptyka) – Platinum Champion 2021
(great-grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab),
EKS Alihandro (Bay, 2010; Marwan Al Shaqab * OFW Psylhouette) – Platinum Champion 2023
(grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab),
Sundown K.A. (Grey, 2013; QR Marc * L Serenella) – Vice-Platinum Champion 2023
(great-grandson of Gazal Al Shaqab).

Only four Platinum World Champions do not have Gazal Al Shaqab in their pedigree:
Dakharo (Bay, 1999; Dakar El Jamaa * Fof Kharolina) – Platinum Champion 2012
(he started the history of Platinum titles at the World Championship),
Eternity Ibn Navarrone D (Grey, 1997; Ansata Sinan * Navarrone-P) – Platinum Champion 2015,
Royal Colours (Bay, 2003; True Colours * Xtreme Wonder) – Platinum Champion 2016,
ES Harir (Grey, 2011; AJ Dinar * TF Magnum Magic) – Platinum Champion 2022.

Having studied the pedigrees of all Platinum and Vice-Platinum World Champions, you can find that they are all related through the legendary straight Egyptian Arabian stallion NAZEER.
Absolutely all of the World Platinum Champions have two sons of Nazeer in their pedigrees – MORAFIC and ANSATA BIN HALIMA. In the pedigree of five (Baanderos, Dakharo, ES Harir, EKS Alihandro, Equator) there is also a third son of Nazeer – ASWAN.

MEETING PLACE — PARIS

In 2024, the French location of the World Arabian Horse Championship has changed: the show has moved from the cozy Parisian suburb of Villepinte, where the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center is located, to another suburb of the capital – Porte de Versailles, to the new spacious exhibition center Expo Porte de Versailles.
The World Arabian Horse Championship is integrated into

the program of the annual equestrian exhibition Salon De Cheval – the largest in Europe. The scale of both the exhibition and the championship is steadily growing – in total, the event attracts more than 150-160 thousand visitors, including professionals in the field of equestrian sports and horse breeding, as well as ordinary horse lovers, not only of Arabian horses, but of all other breeds as well.

FULL STANDS

The World Arabian Horse Championship is an event of the highest level and significance for all participants in the Arabian show industry. Here you can meet representatives of Middle Eastern royal dynasties, heirs of European business empires, big business tycoons from all over the world.

The VIP sector with chicly decorated tables rises up by steps on 5 or 6 tiers. Beautiful audience, classic and smart-casual style, everyone knows each other directly or in absentia. A magnificent space for communication, friendly and business meetings.

Opposite the VIP zone, on the other side of the arena, there are sectors for ordinary visitors of the Salon de Cheval exhibition. It is gratifying that on the final day of the 2024 World Championship, not only the VIP sector was completely full, but also all the stands opposite - not a single free seat!

It is important that the industry is infused with "fresh blood" from outside, that is, new people come. Perhaps someone will accidentally come to the show for the first time as a simple visitor, fall in love with an Arabian horse and decide to build their own stable one day. Who knows.

Despite the apparent elitism of such a direction in horse breeding as Arabian show horses, we must agree that small private farms play a huge role in the industry. Yes, many "horses of the century" were born at large state stud farms of the world.

But it is worth remembering that such notable and significant stallions for the industry as: WH Justice, Baanderos, FA El Rasheem, Royal Colours, Equator and a number of others were obtained by small family farms.

WH JUSTICE

WH JUSTICE (Magnum Psyche * Vona Sher-Renea, grey 1999) – “The Champion maker”.

He was born in the USA, Utah, on a small farm of the Arabian breed enthusiast and lover Wendell Hansen. Hence the initials WH.

The “Era of Justice” in the show industry began about 20 years ago, and his brilliant legacy can still be seen.

Exactly half of the 2024 World champions (9 out of 18) have WH Justice in their pedigrees:

Royal Futurista (Bronze Ch. Yearling Filly, grey 2023);
D Najlah (Silver Ch. Junior Filly, grey 2021);
D Raseel (Bronze Ch. Junior Filly, grey 2021);
AJ Kayya (Gold Ch. Senior Mare, grey 2020);
Basandra Settimocielo (Bronze Ch. Senior Mare, grey 2011);
Aesar Alwajba (Silver Ch. Yearling Colt, bay 2023);
Baz Aljassimija (Gold Ch. Junior Colt, grey 2021);
Nesj El Jameel (Silver Ch. Junior Colt, grey 2022);
Fajer AA (Bronze Ch. Junior Colt, grey 2021).

FA EL RASHEEM (FA El Shawan * Virtuosa MLR, bay 2011) is another legendary "The Champion maker". He was born in the USA, to private breeders Marlene and George Rieder's Foxbriar Arabians. Hence the initials FA.
Since 2013, FA El Rasheem has been owned by the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, which belongs to the Al Maktoum’s - the ruling dynasty of Dubai, UAE.

Like WH Justice, FA El Rasheem created a turning point in the breeding work of breeders, changing the fashion for the show horse type.
"The El Rasheem era" began about 10 years ago, and today he is one of the most visible and significant stallions in the Arabian equestrian show industry. He continues the famous Al Shaqab champion dynasty through his paternal grandfather Marwan Al Shaqab (by Gazal Al Shaqab).

At the 2024 World Championship, FA El Rasheem received the Special Award "Best Sire in the Show".

About a third of the 2024 World Champions (5 out of 18) have FA EL RASHEEM in their pedigrees:

D Rowa (Silver Ch. Yearling Filly, chestnut 2023);
D Najlah (Silver Ch. Junior Filly, grey 2021);
D Raseel (Bronze Ch. Junior Filly, grey 2021);
Afreen Al Shaqab (Gold Ch. Yearling Colt, grey 2023);
D Seraj (Gold Ch. Senior Stallion, grey 2015).

It is quite interesting to analyze the list of horses that were not born in large stud farms, but in private family farms, and at the same time have shown and continue to show themselves in the Arabian horse show industry.
You can continue to analyze the list yourself, and it will inevitably lead you to the idea that not only giants change the course of events, but also small players are capable of making a revolution in world selection.
Small and medium-sized private farms have less resurses for mistakes in breeding work, fewer resources for experiments on this or that cross.

But more motivation and time to build and study genealogical maps in order to make the most accurate and successful selection in their breeding program.
Also, small farms sometimes cannot afford the semen of the most popular breeding stallion at the moment, and they buy the semen of a lesser-known, but no less high-quality stallion. In the case of a successful cross, the world industry receives high-quality horses with a variety of pedigrees. "New blood" protects the world's show-class Arabian horse from "genetic fatigue" and degeneration.

NEW BLOOD

It is gratifying that among the 2024 World Champions there are horses whose pedigrees are not well-known.

The outstanding breeder from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, owner of the world-famous stud Al Bidayer, this year exhibited two of his horses at the show in Paris, whose parents were bred on different continents, on third-party private farms:

Durrat Al Bidayer (bay, 2023) – became Gold Champion Yearling Filly 2024, – was obtained by the bay stallion Jyar Meia Lua (born in 2013 in Brazil, on the private farm of breeder Lenita Perroy), and by the lovely chestnut mare A Vision MI, acquired by the Sheikh in Australia, at the Mulawa Arabians stud farm;

Azzam Al Amal (grey, 2023) – became Bronze Champion Yearling Colt 2024, – was acquired by the Sheikh in South Africa, at the Al Amal Arabians stud. The colt’s parents are the bay stallion El Galal Baahir ZA and the grey mare Arabesca Scarlet Moon ZA.

These horses do not have WH Justice or his son Ajman Moniscione in their pedigrees. * The maternal lines go back to the stallion Padrons Psyche, the grandfather of WH Justice.

Thus, in addition to the art of breeding his own Arabian horses of excellent quality, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saoud Al Qassimi demonstrates his art of seeing potential and foreseeing prospects in horses from other stud farms. It is highly likely that the influx of new quality blood will benefit the breeding work at the Al Bidayer stud.

In terms of new bloodlines, two more horses that became world champions in 2024 are of interest:
Aisha Al Sheikh (grey, 2021) – Gold Champion Junior Filly 2024, – bred at the Mr. Mohammad Al Sheikh Stud, Palestine. Aisha Al Sheikh’s father is the already mentioned stallion Jyar Meia Lua from Brazil. Her mother is a grey mare Algamra, born in 2017 in the USA, at the private farm Arabesque International, owned by the family of Dr. Hugh and Alexandra Hodsman. Algamra’s father is the bay stallion AJ Portofino, and her mother is Ava Maryia by Eden C. The promising filly Algamra was purchased by the owner of Al Sheikh Stud,

and in 2019 she was exhibited at the World Championships in Paris, where she won gold. Five years later, her daughter Aisha Al Sheikh also received the title of World Gold Champion 2024.

In Aisha Al Sheikh's pedigree there is neither WH Justice nor his son Ajman Moniscione, nor Marwan Al Shaqab and his grandson FA El Rasheem. * On the maternal side there is an ascent to the stallion Padrons Psyche - the grandfather of WH Justice. On the paternal side there is an ascent to the stallion Ruminaja Ali - the grandfather of Gazal Al Shaqab. But still, this is a distant relationship.

HL El Ganador (grey, 2016) – Bronze Champion Senior Stallion 2024, – another one champion, whose pedigree is of interest. Refined, balanced, typical HL El Ganador was born in Chile, in the private farm Familia Duch Matthei. His father is the grey stallion HP Shakir TE, and his mother is the grey mare Lonco Baby Maria by HP Emir. HL El Ganador was purchased by Mrs. Nayla Hayek, the owner of the world-famous Swiss stud – Al Hanaya Arabian Stud.

In 2019, HL El Ganador was exhibited at the World Championships in Paris and received the title of Bronze World Champion among junior colts. Five years later, HL El Ganador repeated his success in Paris, receiving bronze in the senior stallion class, as well as the Special award "Best European Horse".
Studying his pedigree, it is difficult to find known names, those that are familiar to everyone. Again, on the maternal side there is an ascent to the stallion Padrons Psyche.

From this short review it is clear how effective the interaction of small family farms and influential resource stud farms is. Therefore, it is important that ordinary people continue to come to world-class shows, fall in love with the Arabian breed, become experts, and get their own horse.

It is priceless that the World Championship in Paris has kept the door open for ordinary spectators for 44 years and has not become a “closed club”.

A HORSE IS LEGS

This time in the arena in Paris there were a lot of Arabian horses with excellent mechanics of movement, at a spacious powerful trot. Having analyzed the pedigrees of those horses that won the 2024 champion titles - Gold, Silver, Bronze, we can see that 16 of the 18 world champions have PADRONS PSYCHE in their pedigree, which goes back to "PADRON by PATRON", which largely explains "where the legs come from".

The pedigree of 2024 World Champions to PADRON goes:
11 horses through Magnum Psyche: Durrat Al Bidayer, D Rowa, Royal Futurista (her pedigree goes back to Padron also through Padrons Ghibli), D Najlah, D Raseel, AJ Kayya (her pedigree goes back to Padron also through OWF Psylhouette, the pedigree to Padron is on both the paternal and maternal lines, three times Padron is mentioned in her pedigree),

Basandra Settimocielo, Aesar Alwajba, Baz Aljassmija (his pedigree goes back to Padron also through MD Psylk, the pedigree to Padron is on both the paternal and maternal lines, three times Padron is mentioned in his pedigree), Nesj El Jameel, Fajjer AA;
1 World Champion 2024 has a pedigree to Padron through Doll Padron, Focus Highlander - HL El Ganador;
1 World Champion 2024 has a pedigree to Padron through Enzo – Aisha Al Sheikh;
1 World Champion 2024 has a pedigree to Padron through Padrons Immage - Bint Hazy Al Khalediah;
1 World Champion 2024 has a pedigree to Padron through Magnum Chall HVP - Azzam Al Amal.
In fact, 89% of all World Arabian horse Champions 2024 have Padron in their pedigree.

This year, the world champions really have a lot of ancestors “with legs” in their blood through lines that go back to legendary Arabian horses of straight Russian and Crabbet (old English / Lady Anne Blant) selection – descendants of true war Arabian horses for the army.
One cannot discount the outstanding old Spanish military lines (Yeguada Militar), which have become noticeably more numerous in the pedigrees of World Arabian horse Champions.
The origins of these lines lead to the East – to the noble Arabian horses of Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Iraq.

According to the results of the judging, the Special award "Best movement among female horses" was awarded to the senior mare Poganinka (chestnut, 2015; El Omari * Pentra).

This mare was born and belongs to the famous Polish stud – Stadnina Koni Michałów Sp. Z O.O. It is a special pleasure and joy to watch the free and energetic movements of horses of Polish selection, when you can feel the stud quality and thorough approach to breeding work. All the judges unanimously gave this mare the highest score for movements: 20-20-20-20-20-20-20.

Thus, Poganinka received third place in her section and advanced to the final. According to the results of the final, she entered the top 10. Poganinka's pedigree includes the best of Polish, Russian and Egyptian Arabian lines. Congratulations to the Mihalow Arabian Stud Farm, Poland!

The strong Polish breeding standards were also evident in several other outstanding horses. The most notable in terms of movement:
Junior filly Bianca Of Sinus (bay, 2021; Fadi Al Shaqab * Ballena), received 6 marks of 20 for movement, taking first place in her section and advancing to the final. She entered the top 10 in the final. Breeder: Sinus Arab Stud; Owner: Adam Ochman - Polia Arabians.

Senior mare Babetta (bay, 2020; Emerald J * Belinda), received 5 marks of 20 for movement. But, alas, she did not make it to the final, taking only 6th place in her section. Breeder: Stadnina Koni Janów Podlaski Sp. Z.O.O. Owner: Flaxman Arabians - Kay & Helen Hennekens-van Nes.

Based on the results of the judging, the Special prize "Best movement among male horses" was awarded to the senior stallion Mahasin De Cartherey (grey, 2018; Radjah De Cartherey * Wadiha De Cartherey).

This wonderful horse flew like a torpedo over the arena, for which he unanimously received the highest score for movements from all judges: 20-20-20-20-20-20-20.

His paternal pedigree goes back to the platinum world champion Gazal Al Shaqab, as well as to the legendary WH Justice.

On his mother's side, he is the grandson of another platinum world champion Eternity Ibn Navarrone D – a stallion whose blood is a rare blend of the best Egyptian, straight Russian and Spanish pedigrees. Congratulations to the breeder and the owner of such a wonderful Arabian horse – the radiant Mrs. Chantal Rigat, De Cartherey Arabians.

On a personal note, I would like to mention a few more horses at the 2024 World Championships that amazed me with their remarkable movements.
The Junior colt Fajer AA (grey, 2021; Shanghai EA * Fadwa AA), from the Israeli stud farm Ariela Arabians. He flew excellently during the selection by Sections, received 20 points for movement from 4 judges, took 2nd place in his Section and reached the final. In the final, he gained the Bronze World Champion title.

On the Championship, he trotted so dynamically along the carpet that it is simply impossible to describe it in words - “you just have to see it”.

Fajer AA's pedigree has a bouquet of the best names in the show Arabian horse industry, including lines dating back to Marwan Al Shaqab and WH Justice, as well as bright representatives of direct Egyptian and Spanish lines.

The Senior stallion HL El Ganador (grey, 2016; HP Shakir TE * Lonco Baby Maria).

It was written about him above, describing the emergence of little-known pedigrees in the show industry.

Forgetting about gravity, HL El Ganador also received 20 points for movement from 4 judges during the selection by Sections, took 2nd place in his Section, losing only to D Seraj. In the final, he received the honorary title of Bronze World Champion.

WHAT DO JUDGES LOOK AT?

The show judges must be practical breeders of Arabian horses with experience, who have completed national, regional or federal judge courses - depending on the level of the show. They evaluate the following parameters and characteristics of the horse:

TYPE,
HEAD AND NECK,
BODY AND TOPLINE,
LEGS,
MOVEMENT.

The maximum score for each parameter is 20.

Let's be honest, judges also secretly evaluate other parameters – COURAGE, CHARISMA, ATTRACTIVENESS. Something that can be described as eye-catching, breathtaking, astounding, shock and greatly surprise.
The word "charisma" in translation from ancient Greek means "gift of God". This is an innate ability to attract attention. Charisma is not a basic setting of Arabian horses, but it is more common in them than in other breeds. Courage is a state of relaxed joy, excitement. If an Arabian show-class horse, with all the necessary parameters, also has courage and charisma, then it becomes a favorite of judges and spectators.

Not all horses have the ability to move freely in front of hundreds or even thousands of spectators, to withstand a storm of applause, loud shouts and sensual delights. If a horse is tense, stressed, or aggressive, then it has no place in the arena.
It is important to note that the courage of an Arabian horse, although welcomed in every way, should not cross a red line when the horse's behavior is already considered disobedient by judges.

There were many charismatic colts and stallions at the World Championship 2024 in Paris.

Unanimously, both judges and spectators singled out the brightest Arab – D Seraj (grey, 2015; FA El Rasheem * Ladi Veronika). Breeder and owner – Dubai Arabian Horse stud, UAE.

I remember this beautiful horse from the 2017 Open House at the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE.
D Seraj, still in dark dapple grey, attracted all the attention of the audience. Being junior colt, D Seraj easily competed on the same field with his magnificent father – the bay stallion FA El Rasheem.

It is natural and expected that the Senior stallion D Seraj, light grey with a platinum tint, became the star chord of the entire Championship, winning the title of the Gold World Champion Stallion 2024 and the Special award “Best Arabian Horse Type Male”.

If in the following years the nomination "Platinum World Champion" is announced, then D Seraj has every chance to be considered as a candidate for this honorary title, as he has already collected a whole set of gold titles:

"Gold World Champion Yearling Colt 2016",
"Gold World Champion Junior Colt 2018",
"Gold World Champion Senior Stallions 2024".

There were also some stunning Arabian mares at the World Championship 2024. Perhaps the most beautiful fairies of the Parisian fairy tale were four snow-white beauties:
AJ Kayya (grey, 2020; AJ Kafu * Aja Caprice),
Bint Hazy Al Khalediah (grey, 2013; El Palacio VO * Hazy Al Khalediah);
Bassandra Settimocielo (grey, 2011; Ajman Moniscione * MA Scarlet);
Emarella (grey, 2020; Sahm El Arab * Emandorella).

According to the results of the 2024 World Championship, they became respectively:
Gold
World Champion,
Silver World Champion,
Bronze World Champion.
Emarella was only fourth in the final, although this is unfair to her – in a less competitive fight, she would have been an absolute queen.

Following my heart and eyes, I chose Bassandra Settimocielo. Whether it is her flowing silky white mane and tail, or her long Italian name, evoking thoughts of distant travels, or her incredibly refined head with huge black eyes - something about her makes you fall in love and wait for her to enter the arena every time.
In a word - charisma.

Bassandra Settimocielo received the Special Award of the show – “The Trophy of Paris”. It seems Paris also fell in love with her.

Bint Hazy Al Khalediah got the Special Award –“Best Arabian Horse Type Female”.
AJ Kayya got the Special Award – “The Highest Score in the Show” – 93,86.

HANDLERS

The behavior of even a very well-trained horse can change dramatically if, just before entering the arena, it is handed over to another handler to whom it is not accustomed. What follows can be described as a “oh my gosh moment”: the horse starts kicking, rearing up, showing dominance, and shows its displeasure in every possible way. For photographers, these moments result in stunning images “poetry in motion”. For the handler and the entire team, it’s a headache and often leads to failure.

This is why serious stud farms avoid making last-minute changes before and during a show, preferring to work for years with proven trainers and handlers under permanent contracts with the proven trainers-handlers.
The names of top, professional handlers are well known to all participants of the Arabian horse community. They, along with the finest Arabian horses of the show industry, themselves become living legends.
For example, Michael Byatt.

Since 2023, GCAT (Global Champions Arabian Tour) makes the rating of the most successful handlers in the world, and at the end of the season, cash prizes are awarded to those of them who made it into the top.

In 2024, the best handlers from the world top list could be seen at the show in Paris. Below are the names of the handlers whose horses won titles at the 2024 World Championships.
* Handlers whose horses won Sections, passed to the finals, but did not become champions, and handlers whose horses won Special Awards at the Paris show are not mentioned there.

CLASSES, SECTIONS AND CHAMPIONSHIP

This year, the World Championship featured around 100 high-class Arabian horses from more than 20 countries. To systematize the judging, horses were divided into age groups (classes) and by gender. Mares and stallions are intentionally exhibited on different days to prevent unnecessary stress for the animals.

 Each class was further divided into sections. The horses of each section were first led into the arena at a walk by handlers. They walked along the perimeter in front of the spectator stands and, especially, in front of the judges allowing them to preliminarily access the physical condition of the horses, identify and exclude lame ones.

This joint entry of horses into the arena is called a "parade".
During the parade, horses may sometimes behave nervous or aggressively and judges have the option to exclude them for this. The parade also reveals the horses’ condition, not only their physical shape but also their “fighting spirit”. Some horses "fluff up" and show themselves to the spectators. Some look sleepy. You can almost always tell who will take first place in a section by carefully watching the horses walking along the perimeter of the arena.

After the parade, the participants left the arena and then entered one by one, with handler and horse numbered. More precisely, they flew into the arena and made a circle at a sweeping, fast trot, then stopped in front of the judges to present the exterior stance, after which they walked by step forward and back, after which the handler again put the horse in the exterior stance, where it had to open up as much as possible: show a beautifully arched neck, proper leg placement, a balanced body.

All judges independently evaluate each participant, assigning points for type, head and neck, body and topline, legs and movement. Then the judges' scores are sent to a common computer and added up there. The final score determines the winners of the sections.

The horses that place in the top five of each section advance to the championship in their class.

THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW IN PARIS (December 6, 2024):
1. yearling filly class divided into two small groups (sections): 10 + 10 horses;
2. junior filly class 2-3 years old, divided into two sections: 8 + 8 horses;
3. senior filly class 3 years and older, divided into two sections: 10 + 9 horses.

1. YEARLING FILLIES CLASS

Section A

1st place – Durrat Al Bidayer (bay, 2023; Jyar Meia Lua * A Vision MI), we wrote about her above. The breeder and owner is Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qassimi, Al Bidayer Stud, Sharjah, UAE. The graceful bay filly collected the maximum points for type – 6 judges out of 7 gave 20, and the maximum points for head and neck – all judges gave 20. The total score was 92.64.
2nd place – the yearling filly of straight Egyptian line LJ Niylah (bay, 2023; Magic Magnifique * LJ Namina), breeder LJ Invest Sweden AB, owner Bouzoubaa Mouhssine, Morocco. The total score was 91.71.
3rd place – Sultana Al Thamer (Dominic M * Weaam Al Jassimi), breeder and owner  – Al Thamer Stud, Qatar. The total score was 91.64. This filly received the Special Prize “Trophy Espoir female”.
Best Head Yearling Females (1st class, section A) is Durrat AlBidayer.

Section B

1st place – D Rowa (chestnut, 2023; FA El Rasheem * D Rawyanah), breeder and owner of Dubai Arabian Horse stud, UAE. Received 20 points for type from 6 out of 7 judges, and 6 out of 7 judges gave her 20 points for head and neck. Total score was 93.14.
2nd place – Royal Futurista (grey, 2023; AJ Radman x HK Sweet Musique), breeder Cindy McGown and Mark Davis, USA. Owner Al Wajba Stud, Qatar. Total score was 92.14.
3rd place – Nisreen AT (bay, 2023; Avatar AT * Muranas Nasirah), breeder and owner of Al Thumama Stud, Qatar. Total score was 90.83.

Best Head Yearling Females (1st class, section B) is D Rowa.

2. JUNIOR FILLIES CLASS

Section A

1st place – the junior filly Bianca of Sinus (bay, 2021; Fadi Al Shaqab * Ballena). She received a score of 20 for type from 3 out of 7 judges. Also, 6 out of 7 judges gave her a score of 20 for movement. Breeder Sinus Arab Stud, Sweden. Owner Adam Ochman, Polia Arabians, Poland. The total score was 93.00.
2nd place – a rare beauty of Polish blood Wildonara (grey, 2022; Paris * Wildona), who received 20 points for type from three judges. Breeder and owner Stadnina Koni Michałów Sp. Z O.O., Poland. The total score was 92.50.
3rd place – another Polish beauty, junior filly Ebonita (bay, 2022; Haash OSB * Etruzja). Breeder and owner: Janow Podlaski, Poland. The total score was 91.79.
Best Head Junior Females (2nd class, section A) – Bianca of Sinus.

Section B

1st place – junior filly Aisha Al Sheikh (grey, 2021; Jyar Meia Lua * Algamra). She and her pedigree were also mentioned above. A very typical filly, well balanced, with a beautiful, expressive head. All judges rated her type, head and neck with the maximum score – 20. Her movements brought her another 20. Breeder and owner Mr. Mohamed Sheikh, Al Sheikh Stud, Palestine. The total score was 93.14.
2nd place – D Najlah (grey, 2021; D Seraj * Elle Flamenca). Breeder and owner of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE. All judges gave her 20 points for head and neck. And 6 out of 7 judges gave her 20 points for type. The total score was 92.79.
3rd place – D Raseel (grey, 2021; D Seraj * Elle Flamenca). Breeder and owner of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE. D Raseеl is noticeably inferior to her sister in type (only one judge gave her 20 points for type), but she makes up for it a little in legs (two judges gave her 20 points for movement). The total score was 92.07.
Best Head Junior Females (2nd class, section B) is Aisha Al Sheikh.

It is no longer a sensation, but it still looks strange when two full sisters of the same age, not twins, meet in the same arena. At the 2024 World Championship, these were the fillies D Raseel and D Najlah, from the same biological sire (FA El Rasheem) and dam (Elle Flamenca).
Both fillies were probably carried by surrogate mothers. The difference in the date of birth is ten days only.
In the final day, the Special Awards "Best Dam in the Show" was received by Elle Flamenca (chestnut mare, 2013), obviously as a supplier of valuable material for breeding work.
The Special Award "Best Sire in the Show" - FA El RAsheem (bay stallion, 2011).

OTHER SPECIAL AWARDS OF THE SHOW:
"Best Breeder in the Show – Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE.
"Farm of the Year" – Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, UAE.

On my own behalf, I would like to highlight the outstanding breeding work of the Ajman Stud, UAE.
In addition to the wonderful AJ Kayya by AJ Kafu, 2024 World Gold Champion Senior Mare, a number of horses with the AJ prefix became fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers of the 2024 World Champions.

And, of course, there is a reason to note again the most successful sire in the Show – the stallion JYAR MEIA LUA (born in 2013 in Brazil, on the private farm of breeder Lenita Perroy), the father of two 2024 World Gold Champions:
Durrat Al Bidayer, 2024 World Gold Champion Yearling Filly,
Aisha Al Sheikh, 2024 World Gold Champion Junior Filly.

AND WHO ARE THE JUDGES?

As you can see, analyzing a show requires time, knowledge, and immersion in the material.

The more I admire the show judges, especially those of such a high level as the World Championship in Paris.

At the World Championship, where the world's most excellent horses from the best farms and studs are presented, they cannot afford to make mistakes. But there is no time for a long analysis either. That’s where their colossal experience comes into play – keen eye, profound knowledge of the material, vast experience in practical breeding of Arabian horses in their own stables, and some kind of built-in inner intuition.
To me, judges are absolutely extraordinary people, mega professionals, with inhuman endurance.

Only practical judges of the highest, federal level, accredited by ECAHO, are selected for the World Championship. Judges must have an impeccable reputation in the field of judging, proven through their past and present show seasons.

Federal judges fly at least twice a month: from America to Europe, from Europe to the Middle East and back… The endless travel and time zone changes are exhausting. But that’s not all. Almost immediately after arriving, judges must attend a show conference, and then spend several days standing in the arena, where Arabian horses fly past them, one better than the other. And judges must impartially and as accurately as possible evaluate each one according to several criteria and transfer the data to a common database.

IN 2024, THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JUDGING COMMITTEE CONSISTED OF A GREAT TEAM OF EXPERTS:

Mr. Ali Ganem Al Mazrouei, UAE
Mr. Santiago Fornieles, Argentina
Mr. Ahmed Hamza, Egypt
Mr. Terry Holms, USA
Dr. Mohamed Machmoum, Morocco
Mr. Joseph Polo, USA
Mr. Jonas Salzmann, Kuwait
Mrs. Anna Stojanovska, Poland
Mrs. Martine Van Hee, Belgium
Mrs. Christine Valette, France

ORGANIZERS

A huge expression of gratitude to the organizers of the show – CENECA (centre of national exhibitions and agricultural competitions), for giving us all the opportunity to attend such a bright and significant event. Everyone noted the highest level of teamwork and this deserves to be acknowledged more than once.

I would like to thank the President of the show Mr. Jerome Despey for the perfect celebration of beauty, for this peaceful haven where we had opportunity to relax and admire the finest horses on the planet.

My gratitude also goes to one of the most important members of the Arabian horse world community, Mrs. Christiane Chazel, for a driving force in the progress and development of the show industry.

My gratitude to the show director, Mr. Arnaud Lemoine, for the charming chic and attention to every detail of the event.

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful CENECA team, especially Mrs. Valerie Baillon and Mrs. Camille Berrel for your hospitable participation.

Dear Paris. You were the main character of the play. You welcomed me with rain that poured throughout my visit.

Due to the show schedule, I didn't visit any museums – Arabian horses have kept me away from the Louvre for the second time. But I saw a huge amount of impressionism on your rain-soaked sidewalks.

I don't know when I'll see you again. The world has become so unpredictable. God grant that my ship will dock in your peaceful harbor in 2026. Salut!
